So many thoughts
Swirling in your head,
Around and around,
Never getting anywhere.
Anxiety and fear build up
To drown you in despair.

Driving you insane,
With no end in sight.
Pace and go,
Up and down,
Never stopping,
Never halting.

The future, the past,
All start to blur
And contort
Into a shapeless blob.
Worries, problems,
And fear dominate
To create an inky darkness.

It builds and builds.
It taunts you with
unreachable solutions,
and chaos ensues.

Then it reaches its peak,
And your mind shatters.
You cry out in pain,
Fear and despair,
But there is no one
There to hear.

You recoil in your mind
From the outside world,
And slowly drown
In darkness.

As you lie there
And wait,
Your mind dead and gone,
Your spirit takes over.

Hope flourishes
As you recognize there is
Someone listening,
And caring.
God is holding you
While you cry.

And you give up,
And you let go.
Put all your thoughts
And problems
Into his hands,
Your hopes and dreams.

You are no longer
In charge
And you can relax,
At last.
God is older, wiser,
And perfect.
You know he’ll love you
Forever,
And he’ll do what he knows
Is best, for you.

You pick yourself off the floor,
Put your hand in his,
And, together,
Go forth into life
Once again.

To live, to love,
To forgive,
And to be truly
At peace.
